If you think that your bed has bed bugs, you probably want to figure it out soon. First, you should find out if there really are bed bugs. We’re going to look at some of the ways to know for sure. Then, you can begin treating the problem.

Signs That Your Bed Has Bed Bugs

The most obvious way to truly know if you have bed bugs is seeing them. You still could have bed bugs even if you don’t see them right away. Here are some of the signs to look for if you suspect bed bugs:

Blood stains on your bed

Bed bug feces or feces marks

Bed bug eggs or egg shells

Molted skin from bed bugs

Musty odor

Extermination Montreal Max, which does bed bug extermination in Montreal, notes that stains might be visible on your mattress and sheets. The molted skins from the bed bugs may be pale yellow in color. You may smell dried blood or a rotten fruit smell in the infested area.

You might also notice bug bites on your skin. This might look like mosquito bites, according to WikiHow. One major difference is that a bed bug bite may grow larger. Another sign that a bed bug bit you is that bed bug bites can sting.

What Do Bed Bugs Look Like?

According to WebMD, bed bugs are about the size of an apple seed. They are brown and oval-shaped.

You might also see a bed bug after it has eaten. These bed bugs have swollen bodies and can appear to be red.

How Do Bed Bugs Get in a Bed?

Bed bugs can enter your home on your clothing or bag. They then might make their home between your mattresses. This is because bed bugs only ingest blood.

There is a common belief that bed bugs are a sign that your home is dirty. This isn’t the case. They are simply looking for more blood to take in.

Can Bed Bugs Spread?

Bed bugs are able to spread from room to room. They do this by jumping onto clothing. They also get into bags or purses. When you take an item from one room to the next, you may be transporting the bed bugs too.

Be sure to check your curtains, carpet, fans, and more. Though the name suggests that they would only be in your bed, they can be anywhere.

Bed bugs can’t fly, but they are fast crawlers. This helps them move from place to place quickly.

Because bed bugs can spread so easily, it’s important to start treatment immediately. This can prevent them from reaching other areas of your home.

How to Get Rid of Bed Bugs Yourself

First, you should remove all your bedding. Wash it in hot water and dry it at a high temperature too. Then you should vacuum your mattress. The vacuum should be emptied into a plastic bag and sealed tightly. It should be disposed of outside.

You should then use a mattress encasement. It’s important to leave this encasement on your mattress for a year or longer. This will ensure that the bed bugs die. Since they will be trapped, they cannot ingest your blood and survive.

You can buy some insecticides that may work. These should be used all around the bedroom or home where the infestation is.

If you can’t get rid of the bed bugs on your own, it’s a good idea to call a professional. This will ensure that the bed bugs are gone for good.

How to Prevent Bed Bugs

One of the simplest ways to prevent bed bugs from taking over your bed is by buying a mattress encasement. These zip around the mattress to keep bed bugs out. If you’ve had bed bugs before, it can also keep them from spreading.

You can also:

Reduce your clutter so bed bugs can’t hide as easily.

Inspect used furniture before bringing it into your home.

Wash any clothing and bedding you use while out of town.

When Should You Contact a Professional?

Exterminators are more effective than DIY home treatments. They have the necessary equipment to handle the job efficiently.

For best results, you should contact a professional as soon as possible. The DIY home treatments can sometimes help, but they aren’t as effective as an exterminator’s treatments. The longer you wait, the worse the problem may become.

Plus, if the DIY treatments don’t work, you may just be wasting your time trying to find one that does.

If you are noticing the signs of bed bugs in your home, it’s best to treat the problem immediately. Even if you don’t have bed bugs, it’s good to be aware of the signs. Then, in the future, you can stop them right away. You may want to call a professional to make sure the bed bugs are removed properly.

Metal is ubiquitous. It is in almost everything. From tools to home appliances to cars, we have come to expect metal everywhere we look. Have you ever wondered how that metal stays looking shiny and new year after year? If you’re a car lover, don’t you wish your wheels and rims would stay polished too? Well, you’re in luck, because we are going to learn all about it right now.

Powder Is Practical Magic

Getting metal to stay looking brand new over years of use and wear and tear is actually not that tricky of a feat. The process by which it occurs, though, is rather complicated, involving complex chemistry.

It’s known as powder coating. It is very much like paint in its purpose, but is far less likely to degrade over time.

According to the Powder Coating Institute, it is “based on polymer resin systems”. These systems include “curatives, pigments, leveling agents, flow modifiers”. Then the ingredients “are melt mixed, cooled, and ground into a uniform powder”.

The powder itself is then sprayed on some kind of metal element or piece. The spray component applies “an electrostatic charge to the powder particles”. The powder is “then attracted to the grounded part” of the metal. (In simple terms: it sticks.)

This all sounds complicated; in part, that’s because it is. Luckily, you do not have to understand it all to use it. In this way, it is akin to many scientific processes we use every day. In fact, it is actually quite simple to operate.

Again, like painting, you can use the powder on almost any metal surface you need coated. While paint is, in typical use, applied using a brush, the coating from powder goes on in a spray form.

The benefits of using powder coating over liquid paints are pretty fantastic. It is able to protect everything from manufacturing machinery to kitchen appliances. The finish lasts much longer than paint and withstands severe weather environments.

According to Powder Coating Plus, which provides Los Angeles powder coating services, it is cost-effective too. Also, it is good for the environment and can be smooth, textured, or matte in finish quality. It’s beginning to look like this is the panacea for secure, long-lasting paint jobs!

Indeed, all this does sound like a great solution to coating, as well as an alternative to paint, if that is what you need. But, as mentioned at the top, you might also want to use it on your car.

So, let’s turn to that now. We will see if powder coating functions as well on wheels and rims as it seems to work on everything else!

Spray It, Don’t Paint It

The short answer is yes, you can rest assured that powder coating the wheels and rims on your car is safe and effective.

But don’t take my word for it. The Powder Coating Factory mentions five reasons to powder coat instead of painting: toughness, looks, value, color, speed, and price. Powder coating car parts sounds the same as applying it to anything else, huh?

Without spending too much time on each, let’s break each one down.

Powder Coating Factory says that powder coating wheels lasts longer and looks better. It’s as simple as that. The coating is durable and “resistant to dings caused by rocks” or anything else.

They caution against using paint, because it may peel away much quicker, nd it can make your car look pretty rough in the process.

Second, contrary to popular belief, you do not have to coat your rims black. Powder Coating Factory has every color in the rainbow, and a few more besides. In fact, they have 210 colors. That’s pretty remarkable.

If you are looking for price efficiency, powder also has the market beat. As Powder Coating Factory puts it, “Buyers notice wheels.” If all you do is throw on a set of standard rims and do nothing to them (or even paint them), you aren’t adding value.

And last, we all know the one basic need: the need for speed. Powder coating is great in this respect as well. Not in how fast your car travels, but in the very short amount of time it will take to have your wheels powder coated.

Taking It a Step Further

If you’re a do-it-yourselfer, there are plenty of resources available to help you get this job done. From videos to websites to books, there is enough to make you an expert overnight. Okay, not that fast, but, with effort, you will get there.

For one, check out YouTube. Eastwood Company has “The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Powder Coating“. They’ll let you know exactly what to get and how to use it in an effective and efficient manner.

To keep a physical guidebook by your side, grab this handy text from Amazon. It’s a “How-to Guide for Automotive, Motorcycle, Bicycle and Other Parts”. It is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to try powder coating for themselves.

Having a poisonous snake in the backyard an insight fear inside of anyone. While some people are fearless they still must remain careful and aware. According to Sacramento Valley Wildlife Services, who provides nuisance wild animal removal services, a rattlesnake in the backyard is no joke and things can go bad very quickly. The snake should be removed promptly and safely. This does not necessarily mean to kill the snake either. Here is how to get that snake out of the backyard quickly and safely!

Repellent Is the First Step.

If there is a snake in the backyard, then this step was either not effective or altogether skipped. But, the first step in removing a rattlesnake out of a backyard is to prevent them from ever even entering the yard. While this is not one hundred percent effective it can be very beneficial at warding off rattlesnakes. There are a number of snake repellents on the market that can assist in this.

For more information on how to use snake repellent or where to find rattlesnake repellent then www.aaanimalcontrol.com may be able to offer some additional assistance.

Keep the Yard Mowed!

One way to keep a rattlesnake out of the backyard is to make sure that the yard is mowed. Rattlesnakes can easily hide in tall grass and this can be very dangerous for anyone or any pet that may attempt to walk in the backyard. Grass should be kept short. While this may not remove a rattlesnake from the backyard or even prevent them from coming in, it can make them more easy to spot when they do.

This YouTube video can show why it is important to keep the backyard mowed and free of any hiding spots for rattlesnakes.

Remove All Debris.

If there are dead trees or lots of pine straw in the back yard, then a rattle snake may be hiding in in them. One way to help ward off rattle snakes is to not give them a place for hiding. This is not always the case but by eliminating hiding spots a rattle snake will be less tempted to make a bed in the back yard. Rattle snakes can even hide under old lumber or in tool sheds. Be careful.

www.wideopenspaces.com can offer more information on where rattlesnakes like to hide and how to be careful in those areas because they can become very difficult to spot.

Leave the Snake Alone.

Sometimes not doing anything to the snake can make them leave the back yard. While it is good to keep a distance and watch silently it is never ok to try to approach the rattle snake. A rattle snake can jump twice its body length. So, even coming near the rattle snake is a great risk. Often times the rattle snake will become disinterested in the back yard and leave on its own. Be sure to watch if it leaves though.

A lot of time rattle snakes are simply passing through. Stay at a safe distance and watch for the rattle snake to leave. Make sure all pets and children are inside. Most of the time it will move along. However, if the rattle snake does not more steps will need to be taken.

Set Up A Trap.

Sometimes a rattle snake trap will need to be set up. This is a trap that is designed to catch rattle snakes. It is recommended that only a professional uses the trap to capture the rattle snake due to it venomous qualities. However, there are snake traps on the market that can be purchased and used by individuals to remove a rattle snake.

Sweep the Snake Away.

Sometimes backing away from a snake is not an option. Sometimes like if in a shed the only way out is through the snake. If a broom is near a quick sweep of the snake can push him out of the way in time for the induvial to remove themselves from harm. This is very dangerous and should only be done in dire situations.

Call in Professionals.

One way to remove a rattle snake from the back yard is to call a professional. A professional is a highly trained individual that can safely remove the rattle snake without anyone getting hurt. The professional can then relocate the snake to its natural habitat or even a facility. While rattle snakes are dangerous they do sever a purpose to the environment.

Consider Goats.

It is a common usage of goats to be placed in a section of yard to ward off rattle snakes. While some snakes may still try they are usually warded off by the smell of the goat urine and the constant vibrations they produce when walking around. Goats may be a natural way to keep rattle snakes away.

If someone spots a rattle snake the best thing is to keep distance and let them go about there way or call a professional.

One way to change the look of any car or truck is to get it wrapped. There are a ton of ideas for vehicle wraps on the market nowadays. A vehicle wrap can also help preserve the actual paint on the vehicle if done correctly. How much do vehicle wraps cost though, and what makes them the price that they are?

Time Factors into the Price

Any time an item is being sold, the time that it takes to make that product is always calculated into the price. A vehicle wrap is not exempt from such. According to Fleet Wrap HQ – Salt Lake City, which makes vehicle wraps in Salt Lake City, the time that it takes to make a vehicle wrap can be anywhere from three to five days. This is much faster than having a vehicle painted in most instances. A vehicle wrap may still take a few days, but the time is nearly cut in half.

Vehicle Wraps Offer Protection

A vehicle wrap can offer protection for the actual paint or even the body of the vehicle. While it does not make the vehicle invincible, it does help prevent scratches from branches or even rocks on the road. Oftentimes hunters will have their vehicles wrapped; that way they can get further in the woods without the worry of scratching the paint.

There are many reasons as to why to wrap a vehicle, but protection is certainly high up on that list. This is calculated into what a vehicle wrap will cost. A product that adds protection to something is certainly of value. A vehicle wrap is very durable. It is made of vinyl that is usually four mils thick.

How Long Do Vehicle Wraps Last?

Any time someone is investing in a product, the life of that product should be taken into consideration. The lifespan of a vehicle wrap can be anywhere from four to six years. Most of the time the wrap will end up fading before anything else happens to it. A vehicle wrap can last even longer than a paint job. A paint job will remain nice and shiny, but it is prone to scratches due from simply driving down the road.

One way to prolong the life of a wrap is to eliminate how long the wrapped vehicle is in direct sunlight. The more sun the wrap gets, the faster it will begin to fade and become unsightly. If the wrap is parked in a garage, then it is less likely to fade than if it were parked in the sun on a regular basis.

Many Styles Are Available

When wrapping a vehicle, many options are available. There are many different colors to choose from. Another great thing is that any logos, words or signs that are desired can be placed on the wrap. Some people opt to have business information on their vehicle or even neat designs like camouflage. This is all according to individual preference. Depending on the design, the price can vary accordingly.

This YouTube video features some vehicle wrap designs that may be of interest.

Wrapping Only Half of the Vehicle

One option for vehicle wrapping is to get the vehicle partially wrapped. The point of this is to allow the vehicle to have a certain design or logo available for others to see. This can be a great way to advertise an important event or to even just get a business name advertised. The price for half a wrap will be substantially less than getting a full wrap.

The Make of the Vehicle Affects the Amount

The make of the vehicle will also determine the overall price of the vehicle wrap. Some vehicles will have a more intricate body that will end up being a little bit more detailed for a vehicle wrap. Also, the size of the vehicle will also affect the price of the vehicle wrap. The size and body style of the vehicle should definitely be taken into consideration when shopping for a vehicle wrap.

What Is the Average Cost for a Vehicle Wrap?

The average cost of a vehicle wrap is usually charge by the square foot of the vehicle. If the wrap is only going to cover a bit of the vehicle then the square footage for that section will be used to determine the price of wrap. For the most part, a wrap can cost anywhere from $100 to a couple thousand dollars. It is good to get an estimate before committing to having any designs made. Sometimes professionals will have sales. Shopping local is usually the better route and discounts can even be found when buying locally.

A broken dishwasher can be an incredible drag – when not in use they are susceptible to all sorts of molds and deteorations. The cost to get a dishwasher repaired can vary dramatically. According to local experts Green Bay Appliance Repair, who specialize in appliance repair in Green Bay, it typically ranges anywhere from $100 to $200.

How does a dishwasher work?

Unlike a clothes washer, a dishwasher uses only around 2 to 3 gallons of water. This water mixes with the detergent and is pumped around the interior with the rotating spray arms. This water then drains and the process starts again – often several times over a typical session.

Why does the cost vary so much?

There are many different things that can go wrong with a dishwasher, a complete failure is among them but many more minors things can happen too. This can range from anywhere to mildly annoying to a potential breakdown.

What are some of the minor problems that a dishwasher can face?

Often times the dishwasher won’t just stop working all at once – smaller breakdowns can make the machine not do things as well – with problems like wet dishes, detergent residue, and food in the filter being some of the most common problems.

What are the causes of these problems?

When it comes to the dishes still being wet it is usually a worn out heating element that is the culprit. A dirty filter can work less efficiently, causing food particles to stay on dishes, while a damaged dosing chamber can lead to detergent residue clinging to the dishes.

Who should I get to repair my dishwasher?

When comes to any appliance repair you should have a certified contractor come out to look at it. If you are unsure if the person you are hiring is legal to work on a dishwasher either ask for their credentials or look them up via online websites such as the Better Business Bureau.

The person I’m talking to said they would do a free estimate – is this too good to be true?

The caveat here is that you have to agree to their estimated repair cost – you can expect a $50 to $75 trip charge if you decline their service. While it’s good to shop around to get a fair price, you should avoid too many of these free home estimates if you can.

Is it possible to do any of the repairs myself?

Yes! If you find yourself a little handy and have the right tools laying around fixing a dishwasher isn’t entirely too difficult. These machines aren’t entirely too complicated and it is often a few specific issues they face that you can diagnose with a little troubleshooting.

So the dishwasher isn’t running, what do I do to fix it?

Make sure everything is hooked up how it is supposed to – it may seem common sense but make sure that the power is on and everything is properly engaged. From here you need to make sure that the GFCI that it is attached to is working.

I did all that but it’s still not starting!

That’s okay there are a few other spots you can check out. Look at the electrical panel to see if there is a tripped breaker or blown fuse. If all the power is still running toward the machine but nothing is happening chances are you have some sort of defective switch.

What if the dishwasher isn’t filling?

Just like with a lack of power make sure to go to the source first – in this case, the water supply should be checked to see if it is running. Try to make sure that it is opened by turning it all the way counterclockwise.

I’m still having issues with the water levels.

In that case, you need to wait after the dishwasher is sufficiently cool – check the small plastic dome that mounted at the base, typically near the front. This float should click up and down easily – if not it may need to be disconnected and cleaned.

How do you check the water inlet valve?

Shut off the hot water valve then located the actual inlet valve that is typically located behind the bottom front panel. Look for the screen and clean it as well as possible. If the screen appears clear but the dishwasher isn’t filling, you probably have faulty parts.

What about water hardness?

The hardness of your water – or the number of grains of minerals per gallon of water, measured in parts per million – can potentially damage your dishwasher if you aren’t careful. Any water that is over 10.5 grains per gallon is considered hard and can create deposits in the pipes.

Is there anything else I need to worry about?

There are many minor problems a dishwasher can face such as noisy, lack of draining, along with not filling up all the way. While these problems can be multifaceted they are possible to do yourself – with professional services typically requiring around $100 to $200.

If you have ever bought, sold, or rented a home or business, then you are familiar with real estate agents. Real estate agents have a lot to offer and can make things run much more smoothly for their clients. But what is a real estate agent and what exactly do they do? What are some of the tasks they perform? Well, here you will find the answers to those questions and much more!

The Actual Definition of a Real Estate Agent

The actual definition of a real estate agent is someone who is a professional with a license to deal in real estate. They assist in the selling and buying process as well as any negotiating procedures that may occur during such transactions. According to Boardwalk Property Co, (if you’re looking for an estate agent around Bristol then these are a good choice IMHO), real estate agents collect money from commission most of the time, which makes their job even more important to seal the deal.

For more information on the actual definition of a real estate agent The Balance Small Business may offer more details.

How Real Estate Agents Are Paid

Most of the time a real estate agent will be paid as stated above, from commission. The commission is based on the amount the home was sold for. It is a total percentage or set percentage amount of what the home was sold for. However, there are some real estate agents that get their income from a set fee amount for the entire job. This depends on how the real estate agent decides to charge.

All fees should be discussed right up front before any decisions are made. A contract should be made up and signed by the client and the real estate agent to ensure that everyone is held accountable and there are set fees to take place.

The License for Real Estate Agents

Real estate agents generally have a license. Each state has an exam that a potential real estate agent has to pass. Also, a full background check for any criminal records will need to be conducted for the safety of the individual. The price for each of these will vary depending upon the location. Courses are available to become a licensed real estate agent.

This YouTube video can offer more information on what it takes to become a real estate agent and why real estate agents should have to be reputable.

Are Real Estate Agents the Same as Brokers?

The term real estate broker can be a bit confusing when looking for a real estate agent or looking into becoming one. A real estate agent is someone that assists in the selling and buying of a home. So, what is a real estate broker then? Both sound very similar, but they indeed are not. A real estate broker is quite different than a real estate agent, but both perform similar tasks.

The difference between the two is that a real estate broker has their own firm. This means that they are in charge of and responsible for setting everything up with the clients and ensuring that all contracts are legal and set up properly. All in all, they have a larger responsibility that a real estate agent.

Do Real Estate Agents Work on Both Ends?

Some real estate agents will work on the selling process as well as the buying process. While this can seem like something that works, it can also cause some issues, leaving one or both parties shorter on the amount of cash in the end. In fact, some states will not allow real estate agents to work on both the selling and the buying process. If a real estate agent is working on both sides of the deal, then the client should be informed.

It can be a lot to juggle for a real estate agent to handle the buying and selling of homes. A lot of people prefer to only use a real estate agent that specializes in their area of concern. It is also recommended that if you are selling a home, go to a real estate agent that does such. Likewise for buying a home also.

The National Associations of Realtors

The National Associations of Realtors is an associations that consist of real estate agents that have completed all of the courses and exams and have their license to practice real estate. The National Association of Realtors does require that each real estate agent go by the rules and codes of the association.

For more information on the National Associations of Realtors, check out Investopedia.

A real estate agent’s goal is to deal with all of the ins and outs of the selling or buying process. It takes all of the work to be done off the individual and allows for a stress-free process for each client.

If your hearing is muffled in one of your ears, you’re probably a little bit annoyed by it. You might also be wondering what’s going on. There may even be some concern that the problem will last long-term. This problem is often compared to having cotton inside of your ears. Let’s look at some of the reasons your hearing may be muffled and how to fix it.

Why Might Your Hearing Be Muffled?

There are a handful of reasons that you might be experiencing this hearing problem in one of your ears. As Nexgen Hearing – Tsawwassen, a hearing clinic in Tsawwassen, notes, you should talk to a professional for the most accurate diagnosis. This will be useful for receiving treatment too.

Here are some possible reasons for muffled hearing in one ear:

Conductive hearing loss: This problem can be caused by something as simple as an ear infection. Another common cause is wax build-up.

Colds and sickness: When you get sick, you may experience inflammation in your ear. When this happens, your ear canal swells up, causing that muffled sound.

Sudden sensorineural hearing loss: According to Healthline, this is a problem known as sudden deafness. It usually only affects one ear. One of the first signs is muffled hearing in one ear.

Meniere’s disease: Meniere’s disease is a disease that causes a clogged ear feeling. You might also notice dizziness and ringing in the ears.

There are other hearing conditions that can be causing the muffled feeling in your ear. These are the most common problems. Don’t forget to talk to your doctor about the problem as soon as you can. Then you will be able to receive treatment and begin feeling normal again!

What Can You Do to Treat Your Muffled Hearing?

One of the first things you might do is try to remove any water from your ear. You can do this by tilting your head toward your shoulder.

According to Everyday Hearing, you shouldn’t use Q-Tips to unclog your ears. This can worsen the problem by pushing the wax further into your ears.

You might use ear drops. There are ear drops designed for softening wax in the ears. These can be found at a drugstore. You can try these ear drops at home for a couple of days. If they don’t seem to be helping, a hearing specialist will have to step in.

How Long Has Your Hearing Been Muffled?

It’s important to be aware of how long your hearing has been muffled. This is good information to share with the doctor and can be helpful in figuring out what the problem is.

You should also be aware of the timeline so that you know when to call a doctor. It’s best to tell a doctor relatively soon after you notice the hearing difficulties. Acting quickly could save your hearing from being damaged long-term.

Will Your Hearing Be Muffled Long-Term?

This is a common concern with any type of hearing difficulties. You want to make sure that you will still be able to hear.

Luckily, in many cases, your hearing will fully return. These conditions are treatable. It’s important to talk to your doctor about them as soon as possible. By doing this, you will prevent long-term damage.

If you allow the problem to linger for too long without treatment, you are putting yourself at risk for hearing damage. This can easily be avoided by talking to your doctor right away.

What Should You Do If Your Hearing Is Muffled?

If your hearing seems to be muffled for more than a few days, you should give your doctor a call. They can help you to figure out what the problem is. If needed, your doctor can also refer you to a specialist. This specialist can run tests, identify the problem, and provide a course of action.

Which Doctors Work with Hearing-Related Problems?

If you have to be referred to another doctor, you may visit an audiologist. Audiologists usually take care of non-medical hearing problems.

You might also visit an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist, or otolaryngologist. This type of doctor is more prepared to handle medical hearing problems. They know how to treat these problems after identifying them.

Your doctor will know who to send you to so you don’t need to worry about choosing one yourself. The specialist may prescribe ear drops, try to remove the earwax, or try hearing tests.

As you can see, there are a good number of reasons why you might be experiencing muffled hearing. This is a fairly common issue and it’s almost always treatable. It’s important to talk to your doctor right away so that you can get treatment.

Getting help from your doctor will help preserve your hearing. It will also prevent long-term effects.

Wedding are so lovely and beautiful. It is such an honor to be a bridesmaid in one too! However, being pregnant can make it very difficult to find a stunning gown that is comfortable and fits those curves just right. Before starting the task of shopping around for a bridesmaid dress while pregnant, these tips below can save some time and possibly money.

Decide on the Time

Time is very crucial when deciding on buying a dress when pregnant. Let’s face it, a pregnant woman’s body changes very often and purchasing a dress to be a bridesmaid when two months pregnant is a lot different than seven months pregnant. So timing is very important. The first thing to be considered is the time.

Maureen Callaghan Dressmaker (maureencallaghan.co.uk) advises to consider when the dress will be needed and plan to purchase the dress closer to that time. While it is important to wait, the wait should not be last minute due to alterations that may take a couple weeks. Three weeks before the time to wear the bridesmaid dress is preference.

Take Measurements

Before purchasing or even going out or online to buy a bridesmaid dress, the first thing to do would be to take measurements. With a proper set of measurements, a bridesmaid dress can be bought to fit perfectly. A professional can take measurements at most wedding attire shops. Make this the first task.

More information on how to take proper measurements is available at BlitzResults.com.

Check the Maternity Racks

While some dresses can be altered to fit a pregnant woman’s body, there is a full selection of bridesmaid dresses that are designed just for that. Shopping in a bridesmaid maternity section can provide a very large range of options. However, this can be more difficult if the woman is early on in pregnancy. At this point a regular non-maternity dress may be a better option.

Maternity racks can contain a lot of beautiful bridesmaid dresses that may fit perfectly. However, they may not be an option. A regular bridesmaid dress that can be altered or even bought a size or so bigger for some extra baby space may be a better option for women that are earlier in their pregnancy.

Can’t Wait to Buy?

Sometimes waiting to buy a bridesmaid dress is not an option. If this is the case, then a bridesmaid dress should be bought with an additional inch for every month of pregnancy until the date the dress will be used. While this is not an exact measurement, it is the one that will get the closest to the size so that only minor alterations will be needed.

Flowing Styles

One of the best bridesmaid dresses for pregnant women is a flowing gown. A gown that is more flowing can give a bit more space which in turn can not only be beautiful and stunning, but very comfortable for a pregnant woman. Plus, a flowing gown be bought a couple sizes bigger to accommodate the ever-changing body of a pregnant woman and it allows for more space in case the baby decides to grow a little more a couple weeks before the wedding.

For more information on flowing bridesmaid dresses, this link to Essense Designs can be very helpful.

Do Not Get Ruching

A lot of times women will opt for a ruching bridesmaid dress when pregnant. While this may hide the baby bump a bit, it can be very hard to alter. So, instead of trying to hide the belly, purchase a gown that embraces the baby. One of the most beautiful looks is a pregnant woman, and ruching can only hide that. This can make it very uncomfortable. Purchase a dress that is both comfortable and stylish.

This YouTube video offers more information on how to find the perfect bridesmaid dress when expecting.

A Custom Made Dress Will Fit

One of the best routes to go when ordering any kind of dress, especially a bridesmaid dress when pregnant, is to have one custom made. A dress that has been custom made will not only be everything that one may be looking for, but it will fit perfectly and can be much more comfortable. A dress that is custom made will be able to fit every area of the body including the baby bump.

This is one of the better options and many different styles can be chosen. It gives a precise size and fit to the individual, allowing for the most comfort and uniqueness in a bridesmaid dress that can be much more difficult to find on any other shelf or rack. When in doubt always try it out.

Moving away from family can take a toll on a person. A lot of times people will end up feeling really homesick after a move far away from family, friends, and their home.

The folks at We Like To Move It, Move It!! (Lynnwood movers) tell us that no matter what you are moving from that has you feeling homesick, there are ways to cope with it and live a happy life. Here is how below.

Keep Family Updated.

One way to deal with moving away from family is to keep them up to date with things going on in your life. After a move, things can get busy and we often forget to keep in contact. This can leave feelings of being left behind and out of the loop. Keep family updated and they will do the same. That way everyone is up to date and present in everyone’s life.

Even if things may not seem important to you it is still important to talk to family about it. This just lets them be involved in your every day or weekly life even if they do not live nearby. You can visit findingtimetofly.com for some conversation starts.

Join A Group.

If new to a place you may not think that there are very many groups going on. Well, in every town there is some kind of group. Just look in the local paper to find some groups in your area that do things that you like. You can start there, or you can even join a local church for some interaction with kind people.

Whatever it is, join a wholesome group that encourages you. This will lift your spirit and give you something to look forward to on a regular basis and it gives the opportunity to make some new friends.

Give Yourself Space.

Often times after moving away from family one may feel guilty about it. Well, this is an important chapter in one’s life and some space should be given. Although you should still keep family present in your life by communicating it is important to give yourself the time you need to process the move. Once adjusted you can eventually plan some visits back home.

This YouTube video can offer more information on how to deal with moving away from family and friends.

Plan Visits Back Home.

One important thing that you can do is plan visits back home and do your very best to stick to them. Sometimes things happen where the visits may get canceled but try your best to keep them. This will allow you to see family and stay in touch, but it also helps the family to understand you still love them and want to be in their life.

Other family members may seem mad or even upset about the move but in time with persistence and showing them that you still want to be in their life by communicating regularly and planning visits with them, they will grow and adjust to the situation. Very few people enjoy change and it takes time to adjust.

Don’t Just Leave.

Leaving without saying goodbye in person can be hurtful to you and the family. Plus, saying goodbye in person may bring tears but it also brings promises that ensure that you will visit and talk regularly. Everyone deserves a goodbye in person even if you have to start saying goodbye a week in advanced to catch everyone, do so.

Get in A Routine.

Getting into a routine is good even if you do move away. However, it shows that it fights depression and many illnesses. Stay in a routine and make sure that you are drinking enough water and getting enough sleep. Not sleeping enough can be very detrimental to physical and mental health. Being on a routine can help get into a regular sleep pattern.

By being in a routine you can also join a local group or church that will also give you something to look forward to and kick any loneliness that may start to set in when moving away from family.

Never Forget Why You Moved.

Along with moving away from family can come guilt. Remember why you moved away in the first place, surely you thought it was a good decision. Try to think about the reason you moved and that will help eliminate some guilt that may come about when moving away from family.

Enjoy the New City.

Take time to enjoy new things in your area. You can even visit neighboring cities and towns to explore what is in your area. A lot of times their festivals or other things going on in town. You can see what is going on by visiting the towns social page or browsing through the newspaper. Getting involved will keep your mind busy and allow less time to dwell on any sad thoughts.

Have you ever wondered what those small roofs that you see over a door are called? Typically, these structures are small but useful, made from different materials such as concrete, wood, plastic, or steel, and come in different shapes, designs, and motif.

Well, the truth is that these small roofs have a variety of accepted names or terminologies that are used to describe it which includes awning or overhang, canopy, porch roof, portico, and eave. What it is called really depends upon the structural design, location, and intended purpose of the owner, explains The Rhode Island Roofers, professional and experienced roofers in Rhode Island.

However, if you want a more accurate name to call that specific structure then we need to define and differentiate each of the accepted terminologies used to describe these roofs in order to determine which of the names or terminologies above are more appropriate to use.

Definition of Awning or Overhang, Canopy, Porch Roof, Portico, and Eaves

The best way to determine which particular term or name to use to describe a specific structure, we need to define each of the terms mentioned above to get a better understanding of what they mean in order to determine which of them provides a more accurate description of the structure that we wish to describe.

Awning or Overhang

According to the definition provided by Wikipedia, an awning or overhang is usually composed of durable materials that are stretched over a light structure made of wood, iron, aluminum, or steel. It serves as a secondary covering that provides shade from the sun and protection from wind, rain, and snow.

Awnings or overhangs are usually attached to the exterior walls of a house or building, typically above a door or window area. These roof structures are usually permanent but some may have the ability to be retracted when needed.

Canopy

Canopies are commonly free-standing structures that provide shelter to an area outside your house or building. It is most often used outside a door or entrance, but unlike awnings or overheads which are permanent structures, these roofs are generally assembled when needed and stored after use.

Porch Roof

Based on the article published by The Spruce, a porch roof is the roof of a porch that is located at the entrance of a building or house. This structure normally doesn’t have windows but can be screened or enclosed to provide protection from extreme weather or insects.

A porch roof is usually a low structure that provides shelter to the extended area of a house or building. These structures are common among houses that were built in the early 1900s.

Portico

Based on the information provided by Conservation Wiki, a portico is a type of porch or roof that features rows of regularly spaced tall columns that are used to support the structure. These structures are generally used to lead people to an entrance or walkway and were widely used in temples in Ancient Greece.

Most people describe a portico as an awning or overhang that features tall columns. They serve a similar purpose but vary in terms of the structural design. It is more similar to a porch area in design but instead of being used as an extension of the house where you can entertain guests, it is just a spot between the indoor and outdoor areas.

Eave

Unlike the other structures mentioned above, an eave is not an individual or separate structure but is the part of the roof that hangs or sticks out from the house or building. They are designed to extend outside the walls of a house or building to provide additional cover or protection from the sun, rain, wind, and snow.

Which One is Better: Awning or Overhang, Canopy, Porch Roof, Portico, or Eave?

The reality is that each of these structures serves a purpose. It can either be for added space, protection, or aesthetics. Choosing the best one for your homes or properties really depends upon your preference, available space, and the overall design of your house or building.

Final Words

A small roof over a door can be described using various terminologies and names. If that roof serves as a covering for an extension of the house that is used to entertain guest then it is more likely a porch roof. If it is just a spot that connects the interior area to the exterior area and the roof is connected to the exterior walls then it is an awning or overhang.

If that roof that connects the interior to the exterior area of the house has columns that support it then it is a portico. If it is free-standing and can be stored when not in use then it is a canopy. And lastly, if it is just an extension of the roof that hangs out from the walls of the house then it is probably just an eave.

Whatever it is, the reality is that it doesn’t matter what you call it. What matters most is that it serves its function effectively and it adds to the beauty, attractiveness, and value of the property.
