The range of queries continues to surprise us from the everyday person wanting advice on setting up a scheme, to the person in Norwich reporting a man urinating in the street (the person got our number from directory enquiries), the sorting out of anti social behaviour in a London Borough within half an hour of the Trust telephoning a Chief Inspector in the Borough concerned. We regularly have students doing research of various types. We than have very senior police officers who require information for a speech they are giving, or the constables who want information about Neighbourhood Watch on their beat, and the sergeants moving into a Community Unit wanting advice on setting up schemes etc. etc. etc.
Although the Trust does not have any paid employees, the office in the past twelve months as dealt with in excess of 6,500 enquiries seeking help, information and advice. This does not include the several thousand emails to the helpdesk for technical and other information. Enquiries have been received from in addition to the general public, Members of Parliament, neighbourhood watch members, the police service, Crime and Disorder Partnerships, Local Authorities, and a wide variety of other voluntary and statutory organisations, press and media. We have appeared a number of times on national television and provided interviews for a significant number of local and national radio stations, both live and recorded. The national press have featured the Trust on a number of occasions.
The Trustees feel that 2010 / 2011 promises to be, with a renewed interest in support and sponsorship an exciting year for the Trust. The Trustees intend in the early months of 2010 to slightly revamp the website updating the look, and attracting even more hits.
