5 You have won a PRIZE! (I did...with Cybertraveluk.....Huh! Some prize! Read
on..)
"Holiday Clubs" (the new Timeshare
scam!)
You get a
phone call informing you that you have been awarded a prize. These can vary
from free holidays, TV's, PC's, Cash etc. Alternatively, you could be on
holiday and "win" a prize on a scratch-card (usually a
"free" holiday)
You may
have "won" a holiday - check to see if you have to pay for flights
(often as dear as the same holiday elsewhere) or may not get the dates or
airport you want. If you are on holiday and are taken to an office or holiday
complex, you may not know how to get back to your resort!
In order
to receive your prize you need to agree to attend a "presentation"
OR give out personal details. By the way - read on and you will hear how my
"prize" PC was a worthless out-of-date spec. PC for which I would
have had to pay out £69 for packaging, insurance etc!
Other
prizes are often "free" holidays - usually anything BUT free by the time you
have paid for a flight etc. Or else you can't get a flight, or a date you want
within the stipulated time for taking-up the offer.
Holiday "Club"
scams have taken over from Timeshare scams - Timeshare gives you a
"cooling-off" period...not so with
Holiday Clubs.
