How to Get a Broken Charger Out of iPhone

There are different reasons why your charger can get broken off and stuck in your iPhone. Whether you put too much tension on the cable, you have excessive bending, or you are rough with the way that you use it, you may find that the charger gets broken inside the phone, and you want to get it removed. The good news is there are a few ways to get a broken charger out of an iPhone, according to my local Yishun phone repair store, Repair Xpress.

To remove a broken charger from your iPhone, you can use super glue to help pull it out, use tweezers to help get inside the small space and remove it, use a SIM ejector tool, work with a safety pin, or use some nail clippers. No matter which method you use, it is important to be careful when pulling the charger out so that you do not cause damage to your iPhone along the way.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the different methods you can use to help remove the lightning connector tip when it gets stuck or breaks off inside the charging port of your iPhone.

Methods to Remove a Broken Charger from an iPhone

There are a few methods that you can choose to utilize to remove a broken charger from your iPhone. Some of these include:

Use Super Glue

You will need a few tools to get this one started. A screwdriver that is small enough to fit inside the charging port of your iPhone and some super glue will do. Add just a tiny bit of super glue to the end of the screwdriver, and then insert the tool into the port. Hold it down firmly against the broken plug, but use caution to make sure the glue does not touch any of the sides of the socket. Wait for up to a minute, and then slowly pull the screwdriver out with the broken charger attached as well.

Use Tweezers

This technique can be simple, and you likely already have a pair of tweezers around that you can use to get it done. For this one, you will need a small pair of tweezers and a flashlight to help you see what you are doing along the way. You can just insert the tweezers into your charging port and use them to grab the broken pieces of the charger as well. You may need to try a few times to get the grasp that you would like. Once you get a hold of the pieces, carefully slide them out so that you have the charger. This can be a good technique that does not run the risk of getting glue on the inside of your phone.

Use a SIM Ejector Tool

You can consider a SIM Ejector tool to help you. Pick one that is very small since the charging port on your phone will not be very big. You can use this one by inserting the SIM ejector into the charging port and moving it around a bit to remove the broken part of the charger. It could take you a few tries to get to this one, and you need to be careful moving the tool around, or you risk damaging the charging port pins and making it impossible to charge your phone.

Use Safety Pins

For this method to work, you will need a few types of pins to help. This includes a safety pin and a blackhead pin. You can slowly insert the safety pin into your phone charging port and then hold the broken pieces into place. Use the blackhead pin to help you pry the charger out. You will need a firm grip and some precision to make sure that it is going to work, but it can generally help you get that stubborn charger out of the way.

Use Nail Clippers

If all the other methods fail or you do not have some of those tools available, then you can try to use a small pair of nail clippers to help you get the broken charger out. You can just hold the edge that is sticking out of the charger with the nail clippers and then pull to get it out. The baby-sized nail clippers are generally going to be the best for this, and often you will need at least a bit of the charger sticking out for it to work.

Picking the Right Method to Remove a Broken Charger

As you can see, there are a few different methods that you can use to help remove the broken charger from your iPhone, keeping the phone safe and allowing you to charge it with a different charger later. You will have to consider what tools you have at your disposal when you get started to help you determine which one will be the best. Take a look at some of these options to help you out.
